This evening, I find myself at the seat of worship, first in song and then in words. I can’t seem to shake this enjoyable stirring in my belly. It is riled up and active. It’s the first love stirring yet again. Not to be forgotten nor forsaken, but to be reminded of the first days and nights we spent in love! Return to your first love (Rev 2:4)!
The month of former rains is upon us, it began after the new year festival that was just celebrated in the Jewish year, 5778. The first month after Rosh Hashanah is the time of the former rains. Let them come! And then bring the latter rains too! Let the former and latter rains come in the same month (Joel 2: 23)! Do not settle for less this time! Let Your rains come Lord!
With a whirlwind of activity, ministry, fellowship, and stillness, God has been deeming the last week as His. He is calling all the more. Can you hear Him? Do you hear the Spirit calling? He is. He doesn’t stop. Not yet. He is calling to you tonight. It’s been the same since the start of you. He loves you and you should be filled with this love to use and share with your brethren (1 John 3:11).
Touching heaven while standing on earth. It’s the sustaining Grace that keeps going. It’s the first commandment Jesus gives us, to love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, body, and soul. Secondly, love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12: 30-31). If we can but achieve these simple and whole commands, what a place this world could be!
Ushering in is what He wants to do, but to whom will He go? Will you be ready? Will you open the door? Will you lift Him up? Will you be the vessel that He can’t deny to fill? Try Him. All He wants is all that you are. Nothing more and nothing less. You are to be His. So tonight, reach out into the depths of where He is calling you and answer. Dare to experience His reckless love. Do a query on the internet for a song: the reckless love of God, by Bethel, I think you will enjoy it.
I can’t explain it any better. Feed what you want to become. It’s something we do instinctively. What we consume is what we become. If you consume His Spirit, you become more like Him. Jesus is the answer. Always has been and always will be.
Godspeed, The Journeyman
Ps. Today’s story comes from the pursuit of the King of kings. He is up to something and wants you to respond. It’s a call you can’t afford to miss! I pray you get the taste!
