The Bite...

Spite, anger, and righteousness are three venomous entities that are contradictory to the way of the Spirit. They leave a toxic bite and affect the victims in a horrendous way. It doesn’t build but destroys. It doesn’t edify but complicates. It doesn’t benefit but hurts. Yes, the bite has a nasty sting that can linger for lengthy times.

Life has its up’s and down’s for sure. If you watch television at all, you will see how the world is ending every other day. Decisions made here and there contrary to the reporting party’s beliefs and thought processes would lead viewers and listeners to think that we are in dire straights. Regardless of your party affiliation!

But wait! There is good news! We have an answer! His name is Jesus! No matter the situation, no matter the strife and discontent, no matter the prevailing thoughts of the day, we have a better answer! He’s the One who was nailed to the tree two thousand years ago. I know it seems hard, but the truth does set you free (John 8:32)!

When the world is filled with clutter and division set your sights higher. We are not to be in dismay as the world is, but we are called to show them a better way. It is your walk with the Lord that sets you apart from the rest. Believe me, when God sets His seal upon you, you have become His and are known by Him (2Timothy 2:19). The world sees this, so rest assured in your salvation!

Seeing the higher calling of God isn’t always easy but press on anyway (Philippians 3:14). It takes time to practice and know what this is. Distractions are all around. Once you are His, the evil of this world sets out to divert and lure you into a cold or luke-warm environment. Stand tall and hold on to His Gaze as He gives you His promised peace (Numbers 6: 24-26).

Knowing who you are and where you stand is everything in the Kingdom of God. You are His and He is yours. Jesus, in fact, has prayed for you and me and our unity (John 17:19-26). One of His last acts before the cross was to lift up all who would become believers in Him. Yes, He thought of you when He was headed to the cross. You were on His mind. His sacrifice of blood covers you. He has blotted out the sin and made you white as snow (Psalms 51:7, Isaiah 1:18)! Don’t let the bite from this world take you away from what God has provisioned for you.

Revival is being prayed for, fasted for, and called for… don’t let division keep it from coming. Find out what God has for you and let Him be the focus. The Spirit of Jesus will guide your steps (Psalms 119:105). Its something we need. A nation returned to God and leading the way for others. Not by force, but with God’s love. One act at a time!

Godspeed, The Journeyman

Ps. Today’s story comes from a time of prayer and worship. It is something that I’ve been mulling around with for a while. It is so easy to see our differences and weaknesses and fashion that knowledge as a weapon against a brother or sister in Christ. I’m as guilty as the next. Change me oh Lord and let it begin with me!
