Clearly the Lord is not a respecter of persons. He merely is who He is, no strings attached. Recently, I have been going through some medical corrections. It’s a period where one lays back and has to kick up the feet and let the body recover over time and rest. The more one cooperates with this method the better it is in the long run.
Once, you are saved, you are the Lord’s and He is yours. You build a relationship from some moment in time and grow it. Just like you do any other connection with someone you know. Some people you remember the moment you meet, others not so much! Ha ha! But still, a time of beginning did occur.
With salvation we receive God’s promises and declarations or gifts and calling. They are irrevocable, check out Romans 11: 29 AMP. At some point many of us have had a word spoken by a pastor, preacher, evangelist, prophet, or someone else over our lives. Also, we can receive word through His Word and through music or prayer. But at some point we have had a word spoken over of us. Maybe it was Mom and Dad or Grandma and Grandpa…
Anyway, laying around resting gives an opportunity to catch up on reading, movies, and prayer time. Even if you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall asleep, God will wind up reaching out to you and say, “Hey you feel like writing a letter now?” Yes, I enjoy it. I have a sense of humor and I’m sure glad my Papa in heaven has one too!
The time spent under doctor’s orders is key in the healing process. The more I adhere to their wisdom and guidance the better my chances are for a proper and speedy recovery. If I begin to attach things to it, then my story changes and can be delayed. Other’s love to offer their wisdom from experience or just because. Sometimes we graft their two cents in with ours and then we are left with some dangling experience and wonder how the doctor got this all wrong…
But the truth stands on its own. When a word is spoken, it penetrates beyond the earlobes, past the cranial device and lands in the heart. It touches our core and spirit. We at this point have received the word. After reception of this word, too often, we formulate what it means and where it will take us. Other times, it is stifled because people join in and state contrary facts. Those facts begin to swirl around in the brain cell and find a way of landing on God’s Word allowing our future to be bound with limited understanding. This is a trap! (Admiral Akbar had it right!) We don’t need or want God’s Word to be bound by human influence or understanding. Its too restrictive! We need freedom to let God perform the good function He has intended for that Word!
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty (II Corinthians 3:17 AMP)! It is this liberty that we need. To be infused with Him releases the captivity of the restraints placed upon us. When Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost and some people of “the Way” were praying for him, an angel shook Peter in the night and walked him out of his cell (Acts 12: 5-10 AMP). His attachments were left behind in a moment and Peter was free to return to God’s purpose.
So tonight, or morning, or day, whenever you are reading this, I pray these attachments that have put constrains on the things of God in your life, fall off. No longer let these words, doubts or beliefs define what He has spoken over you. The plans He has are for your future and a hope filled one for your benefit (Jeremiah 29: 11 AMP). Restart a fresh today and walk the life He intended for you! Cast the attachments and let the Word stand on its own.
Godspeed, The Journeyman
Ps. Today’s story comes from an impression that has stayed a few days. One that was being revealed over a time frame. So tonight as I sit in bed relaying this story, I hope it helps you build a better future. You have value and worth beyond your understanding and imagination!
Romans 11:29 AMP “For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. (He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change his mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.)
2 Corinthians 3:17 AMP “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).”
Acts 12: 5-10 AMP “So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent prayer for him was persistently made to God by the church (assembly). The very night before Herod was about to bring him forth, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, fastened with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. And suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared (standing beside him), and a light shone in the place where he was, And the angel gently smote Peter on the side and awakened him, saying, Get up quickly! And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, Tighten your belt and bind on your sandals. And he did so. And he said to him, Wrap your outer garment around you and follow me. And (Peter) went out (along) following him, and he was not conscious that what was apparently being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they had passed through the first guard and the second, they came to the iron gate which leads into the city. Of its own accord (the gate) swung open, and they went out and passed on through one street; and at once the angel left him.”
Jeremiah 29:11 AMP “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”
