“Have a holly jolly Christmas, it’s the best time of the year.” Oh it’s a song that is sung by many and I enjoy a variety of the versions. We learn to celebrate Christmas from family traditions and ones that we develop ourselves. It’s a time of the year we can lose control and forget the focus of what it is about; it’s also a time where many pressures add up and it becomes a burden to bear.
Some thing I have seen recently and wanted to take a minute of your time to share it. This is the last letter of the year, probably, and I felt enough of an impression to take note. It is difficult to share at times, because I believe we all have eyes to see but realize we don’t all see the same way. Perusing Matthew 13:16 we find a cause “you are blessed to see what you are seeing and blessed to hear what you are hearing (NLT).” Have you felt the shaking? Do you hear the rumblings?
When you listen to the news, watch market trends, and hear of the riots in the oddest corners of the world, people begin to focus on the chaos of incidents. Without God’s guidance, one swoop after the other would cause great panic. But in this trending devastation remember, the world does not understand and refuses to see. David wrote it this way, “these oppressors know nothing; they are so ignorant! They wander about in darkness, while the whole world is shaken to the core (Psalm 82:5 NLT).” But we as Christians can see this as the promise of the Lord’s doing. In Luke, we find people being terrified of events and Jesus warned that it was due to the shaking (21:26 NLT).
Part of this shaking is causing a realignment of wealth. God is taking that which the world has kept hidden from His people and reassigning it. I believe this is part of the stock market correction and housing and other forms of wealth. This wealth can come in hidden or disguised opportunities and ideas. Be prayer and steadfast in this. Isaiah described it this way, “and I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness-secret riches (45:3a NLT).” Places that you have not know of will cause a prosperous stream to flow. This will be a testimony for you as read the rest of the phrase in Isaiah, because God has called you by name (45:3b NLT).
So in this Christmas season, stay merry and bright! And may all your Christmas’ be white… I can hear Bing Crosby singing those lines.
Godspeed, The Journeyman
