ides...

“Look to the ides of March, Julius!”

“They be upon us!”

A day of infamy in the knolls of Roman history and a set of circumstances that led to the downfall of a notable leader betrayed by those in his own court.

“Et tu Brute?”

The enemy was within. The signs were there and the actions of the few affected the many. Bloodied and stunned, Brutus ran from the scene along with his other conspirators.

In the midst of the Lenten season an outbreak! In the bustles of the sporting world, two leagues were suspended and other events were cancelled, postponed, and or delayed. Shelves were hardly remaining stocked for the world was in flux! Schools were being switched to online classes or postponed until further notice. Was this the moment where we should have been heeding the call “not to take flight on the sabbath or in the winter (Matthew 24 :20 KJV)?”

I was taking time during this season to draw a bit closer to the Lord (James 4: 8 KJV). I didn’t anticipate writing much. But the paths are before us… which way to choose? Which one to take?

To which path shall we walk (Joshua 24:15 KJV)? The choice is yours… but allow me to share what I see.

Many have been speaking of a great move of God. A type of “endtime” revival that will usher in herds of believers like never before. Huge movement where miracles are the norm and disease and famine are a remembrance of the past. A Spring of God that ultimately leads to the ushering of His return… at least that is our hope as Christians.

Ezekiel was set as a watchman for the nation of Israel. He was called and very peculiar in his ministry. But one thing was for certain, that he was to relay what God had spoken to him (Ezekiel 33:7 KJV). Having the knowledge and not sharing at times can have grave consequences. Just read into the 33rd chapter of Ezekiel and you’ll see the burden he carried.

Many people come forward stepping out to share their perspective. Often times when it aligns with others. But what if you were shown something and it was different than everyone else? Would you speak out? Matthew 24 speaks of many false prophets deceiving bunches and love growing cold (v. 11-12 KJV).

What or Who is your Source?

“Faith comes by hearing… and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10: 17 KJV).” What we take in matters. What is spoken in to us affects us. It becomes our beliefs. So what we dine on is our source of life. It is our spring that either carries and refreshes or drowns and suffocates.

The path is revealed.

Covid-19 is a scary disease and virus. It has touched the four corners of the globe and is still growing and wreaking havoc and chaos. Mercilessly attacking the vulnerable and elderly. But let us not grow cold to those suffering. Let us not seek the shelter of underground “cold war” housing. But let love prevail and acts of mercy be real. Let us drop off supplies to our neighbors who can’t or shouldn’t get out. Let us be the change we desire to see. Sure we may be a bit more exposed, but we have a faith. If we operate in it and listen to The Source, we can endure our way though this.

Many distractions that pull away our time have been halted. Your prayers of “God if I only had more time” have been heard. Use this down time to seek Him while He can be found! I urge you to use this free time to put on some Praise and Worship, read your bible, listen to the daily audio bible, and pray a bit more earnestly. You have the time…

Then what we will see?

On the other side of this, we’ll see Him. We will see the areas that have been impacted by the virus become the hubs of miracles! Yes, all the global infestation maps will then showcase the Glory of God! You will see it… just participate where you can. Community fellowship and worship is great, but God wants you for this little time of Lent. Heed His call. You’ll be glad you did. I love you all and pray for you…

Godspeed, The Journeyman

Ps. Remember before Jesus left us, He gave us this gift of peace wrapped in His Treasure of His Spirit. He remains our comfort in all times as relayed in John 14. I pray thee well. Although the ides are upon us, let us seek Him.

Joshua 24: 15 KJV “…choose you this day whom ye will serve;…”

Ezekiel 33: 7 KJV “So thou, O son of man, I have set thee as a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.”

Matthew 24: 11-12 KJV “And many false prophets hall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”

John 14: 25-27 KJV “These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you. Peace I leave with you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
