As I sit here thinking on things of the day, of the night, and of the week, I see tendencies. I have a conflict and also a union of information sitting and I don’t know what to do with it. I see one path with “understanding” in the forefront. At the same time, I see a call to “wisdom”. “But whoever listens to me (Wisdom) will live securely and in confindent trust and will be at ease, without fear or dread of evil (Proverbs 1: 33 AMP).”
There is a new beginning for us all. One that Jesus spoke of while talking with a Jewish leader, Nicodemus. In it He said that a person would just have to be born again to see and experience the kingdom of God (John 3:3 AMP). The leader’s retort was lacking the understanding of His saying. A pearl had been cast and would the Jewish leader become a swine or a son (Matthew 7:6 AMP)?
Not one to leave a true inquiry feeling abandoned, Jesus goes on to ensure Nicodemus that one has to be born again of water and Spirit to enter into the kingdom of God. Things of the flesh are fleshy but things of the Spirit are spiritual (John 3: 5-6 AMP). It's in these moments where the course begins.
If you receive my words and treasure my commandments within you, so that your ear is attentive to wisdom..., if you apply your heart to understand..., if you call out for insight..., if you seek His wisdom... as you would for hidden treasures..., then you will have the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God (Proverbs 2: 1-5 AMP). In this scripture we find that is what Nicodemus was doing.
With years upon years of learning, the elder statesman was a teacher and struggled with the simplest of the Godly treasure. All of his instruction both as student and teacher didn’t mount up to this one new Godly pearl! This day Jesus had cast a pearl to a son... and so a new beginning in the discovery of the knowledge of God.
Proverbs was proving true over 900 years after the fact. God was starting a new era that couldn’t be conceived in human terms. He had selected 12 immediate followers that were oysters sitting in the bay and found a salt cast into their being that produced even more pearls. Today take time to stay salty. Let His Spirit form pearls of who He is. You need them... we need them...
Godspeed, The JourneyMan
