Unstill are the waters this night. The heavens and the earth are in a tug of war. The core is steadfast and holding but the front is moving in. The temperature is dropping. The heavens are descending this night. The light is diffused. The leaves are dropping. The winds are silent... for now.
When the Glory drops, the atmosphere is charged. God is tangible in that moment. The very fibres of your being are alive with the current of heaven. The tingles run over and then they run over again as wave upon wave on the seashores. Building is the presence of Him, Jesus. Without cause you are dropping closer and closer to your knees. The weight can not be carried, you are laid out on the floor, prone. Ezekiel had a knowledge of the glory that few experienced (3:23 ESV).
Caught up into the Spirit, somewhere between heaven and earth, Ezekiel was brought to the hidden places in Jerusalem. The places where the leaders had committed grievous offenses. The things that were done to drive out the God of their fathers. Intentionally, these provocations were put in place, participated in, and carried out. What they did in the secret chambers where the public eyes couldn’t see, was now being laid bare (Ezekiel 8 ESV).
Just as the night was obstructed by the fog, so were the sins of the nation by its leaders. One by one they intended to make a new way separate from the heritage they were in place to uphold. God saw. He knew their hearts better than they did. But now was the time He would move. “I will shake all nations... and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts (Haggai 2:7-9 ESV).”
Oh to see the house filled with his glory! Yes, the heavens can invade earth in the natural and cause quite a scene with the fog, but it doesn’t carry the charge of the Spirit! God is eager to send the waves once again! Be ready and willing is my charge to you. Set aside some time for the first three elements of prayer. Let us join the Psalmist and proclaim, “O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells (Psalm 26:8 ESV).”
Soon we will be seeing in a different way. We will see His Glory in a way that we haven’t experienced before. As Paul told the believers in Corinth, “we all..., are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another (2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV)...” To change and be more like Him is an awesome gift.
Godspeed, The JourneyMan
Ps. Today’s story comes from a desire to spend a few minutes with Him, Jesus. Let us be participants in prayer on all levels. And there are three folds of prayer...
· Corporate prayer: which is something at church or in meetings
· Family prayer: which is prayer with your loved ones
· Personal prayer: which is prayer with your Savior
Ezekiel 3:23 ESV “So I arose and went out into the valley, and behold, the glory of the Lord stood there, like the glory that I had seen by the Chebar canal, and I fell on my face.”
Haggai 2:7-9 ESV “And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of Hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declared the Lord of hosts.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the lord who is the Spirit.”
Psalms 26: 8 ESV “O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells.”
