There are two types of people in this world ones that enjoy peeps and ones that should enjoy them. They are a delicious marshmallow dipped in an amazing array of colors and come in a variety of shapes. Sure if sugar isn’t your thing, then maybe you fall in the second class of people. But either way it is okay to be a fan of such delights. You just need to ask my brother!
Growing up the peeps were seasonal. You could only get them at certain times of the year and had to enjoy the treat while it lasted. My brother was a bigger fan of them than I was. He could devour a whole bunch of them at a time. If they went missing, we knew who had “acquired” them. Funny how little things like that will pop-in while doing the daily activities of driving.
Much like a seasonal treat, we can expect things at certain times with the Lord. Every year we change the calendar and a number to our days on earth, add a year from the day we were born, and to anything we celebrate. Yes, seasonal timing is nothing new.
In fact, in one of the least quoted books of the bible, we find there to be a season for all things. “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven (Ecc 3: 1 NASB).” It goes on to speak of birthing and dying, planting and harvesting, tearing down and building up. Yes, the third chapter of Ecclesiastes continues on drawing comparisons for celebrating and mourning, embracing and casting away, silence and speaking, an appointment is granted for everything that is under the sun...
Which is a reason why we are here today: Peeps, Timing, Events, Perilous days, shocking behavior, are all things that can be streamed any of numerous ways. But do not be put into dismay. God has shared with you reason and His Spirit. He gives you the key to His thoughts. “For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God (I Cor 2: 10 NASB).”
With His depth in mind, do not fret the events of the world. Lead where you are led. Speak when your voice is perked to speak. But in all things, love is the key. Our love can be fervent, intense, sweet, soft, delicate, loud and determined. Love can overlook a multitude of things. It’s His Love that causes us to cry out! In John we read of Jesus telling His disciples about this type of love. “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him (John 14: 21 NASB).”
Spend time in fellowship with Him this day. Find some Bethel Music or Jesus Culture on the web and get lost for a little while. It is time. The season is now for moving, speaking, and leading! Your example speaks volumes!
Godspeed, The Journeyman
Ps. Today’s letter comes from the advantage of an early dismissal due to inclement weather. It reminded me of being a kid again when it came to the final bell in school! Enjoy each other. Remember to seek Him, Jesus. Change is upon us! Not gloom, but brighter days. Activation day is coming! Love you all!
